Stew Leonard's Celebrates 5 Millionth Customer

Chefs from specialty retailer Stew Leonard’s will compete against firehouse cooks from the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company in Long Island, New York, in a Chili Challenge for Charity in celebration of serving five-million customers at its Farmingdale location. Judges for the event taking place this Saturday will include customers, local elected officials, community leaders, and food experts.

If the firehouse prevails, a $5,000 donation will be made to the Billy Moon Foundation. If Stew's chefs make a better chili, an equal sum will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Stew Leonard's has served five-million customers in Farmingdale since opening in January of 2016.  Since it launched, Stew's of Farmingdale has sold 1.2 million half-gallons of milk, one-million ice cream cones and cups, 500,000 pounds of filet mignon, 13 million eggs, over 2 million bagels, more than 2 million pounds of bananas, over one-million avocados and over 200,000 pounds of coffee beans.
