Can maple water usurp coconut water's place as an all-natural, healthy beverage? Keith and Lorraine Harris of Ontario-based KiKi Maple Sweet Water believe that the electrolyte-rich, low-calorie drink can. 

“It’s refreshing, clean, and slightly sweet with some earth tones, very slight,” says Keith Harris. He notes that in the U.S., “Coconut water is predicted by 2021 to be a $5-billion-a-year industry,” and hopes that maple water's healthful reputation will appeal to these same consumers.

The duo produces five flavors of the all-natural drink, which is essentially maple sap. Though maple sap is commonly boiled down into syrup, it can be drunk fresh. Packaged in glass bottles, the maple water has a two-year shelf life, reports The Globe and Mail. Full Story
