What is the SFA Maker Prep online course?

Maker Prep is an on-demand course designed to help specialty food businesses grow. It’s an expansion of our popular Maker Prep webinar series that builds on the strength of the webinar content and adds activities, knowledge checks, and community engagement for a rich learning experience.

Who can benefit from this course and for which business stage is it best suited?

Specialty food can be a tough business and our members tells us that they need to be continually learning to succeed. The course is designed for new and emerging makers, and is organized into three phases around pre-launch, launch, and post-launch topics.

Who teaches the course?

Many of the teachers are founders and CEOs of their own food and beverage businesses–together with leading industry experts, they make up the outstanding Maker Prep faculty. Also, SFA staff provide support in the forums and facilitate connections with resources as needed.

How long is the course and can it be taken on-demand?

There are 12 modules, each about three hours in length. You can start at the beginning, or dive into the topics that you need right now–it’s all on-demand.

Do members get a discount?

Yes! The course is $199 for members and $499 for non-members.
