Following on the heels of a rebranding announcement this week, Snyder's-Lance has introduced Clearview Foods, a new snack food division that will focus on better-for-you snack products. Late July Organic Snacks, which Snyder's-Lance acquired a majority stake in last year, will be part of the division, along with Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps and Eat Smart.

"With our new Clearview Foods division, we are in a stronger position to satisfy our consumers' desire for healthy snack choices that deliver on taste and quality," said Carl E. Lee, Jr., president and CEO of Snyder's-Lance, Inc., in a prepared statement. The company has appointed Peter L. Michaud, former vice president of Snack Factory, to the role of senior vice president and general manager of Clearview Foods.

Earlier this week, Snyder's-Lance unveiled its own new logo and tagline, "Snacking is our passion," which the newly revealed Clearview logo echoes, demonstrating a renewed focus as a branding snack food manufacturer.

Snyder's-Lance, based in Charlotte, N.C., manufactures snack foods, with products including pretzels, sandwich crackers, pretzel crackers, potato chips, cookies, tortilla chips, restaurant style crackers, nuts, and other snacks. The company has been undergoing a transformation in recent months, starting with the acquisition of Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps,  followed by the divestiture of the Private Brands business, the acquisition of Baptista's Bakery, and the acquisition of a majority stake in Late July Organic Snacks.
