Fat Toad Farm’s Goat's Milk Caramel Sauces (the traditional Mexican confection known as Cajeta) are the happy result of combining a small number of fresh, simple, natural ingredients and a lotta love (and stirring). Handcrafted with fresh milk from the family's own herd of beautiful (and mischievous) French Alpine dairy goats, Fat Toad Farm's velvety caramel sauces combine creamy caramel richness with the subtle tang of fresh goat's milk to create an utterly unique, not-too-sweet dessert sauce, perfectly paired with ice cream, fruit, fine cheeses and baked goods. What makes Fat Toad Farm's Caramel Sauces so wonderfully unique is both the quality of ingredients and the extreme attention to detail afforded by Fat Toad's end-to-end (cradle to mouth) production process. A throw back to the good old days of multi-generational farmsteading in Vermont, every step of the caramel production process - from grazing, milking, stirring, bottling, labeling, to marketing & shipping - takes place on the farm and is carefully monitored by the family for quality, integrity, sustainability and of course, deliciousness - a rare model in today's world of food production.  And we are open for tours! Fat Toad Farm is run by husband and wife team Steve Reid and Judith Irving, their daughters Calley Hastings and Hannah Reid - long time Vermonters and avid growers and eaters of food. The family has spent the last seven years building a high-quality milking herd and perfecting the art of caramel making. Over the years the Fat Toad Family has stayed true to its mission of working together as a team in close connection with their land and animals to make a high quality, artisanal product.Fa t Toad Farm's Goat's Milk Caramel Sauces are available in four mouthwatering flavors: Original, Salted Bourbon, Vanilla Bean and Cinnamon; in 2-ounce, 8-ounce and 32-ounce jars, as well as a range of gift bag and gift box options. Fat Toad Farm Caramel Sauces are a certified gluten free product with a 12 month shelf life.  Jars should be refrigerated after opening.
