A classic is meant to be enjoyed, appreciated but never touched. There are exceptions, though. We took our heritage cake recipe and stripped it of gluten and nuts, keeping the butter, eggs and sugar intact. Studded with peaches and lavender from the farm, you can't help but engage 4 of the 5 senses.
