All persons must always comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards at all times. 

 

The contractor and/or exhibitor must hire Freeman labor to perform the following tasks: 

  • Loading, unloading and moving exhibitor freight materials and machinery. Loading and unloading the contractors’ equipment to and from a marshalling point onto the exhibit show floor. Exceptions are exhibitor ‘hand-carry’ materials. 

  • Handling and delivery of furniture, carpeting, modular interlocking booth systems and other contractor-owned and leased equipment; pad wrapping, protection work, ramp protection; and installing draperies, including but not limited to wall draperies, table skirting, booth equipment draperies, flags, bunting and party decorations. 

 

Exhibitors may install and dismantle their own exhibit and lay their own carpet within in their own exhibit area if the following conditions are met: 

  • Individuals performing the work must be full time employees of the exhibiting company and carry identification to verify this fact. (Examples of Accepted Credentials: Exhibitor Badge / Proof of payroll ) 

Exhibitors are allowed to unpack and repack their own products and are allowed to do technical work on their machines, such as balancing, programming, cleaning of machines, etc.  

Exhibitors may “hand carry” through lobby areas only  and must use nothing larger than a two wheel baggage cart (rubber or plastic wheels only) to move their items.  

Booth displays must be completed one hour prior to the Show opening. 

Booths and displays (including products) must remain intact until the Show’s official end date and time. Penalties may be imposed for early dismantling of a booth or display. 

 

Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC)  

An Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC) is an approved company (other than one of the designated official contractors), that an exhibitor wishes to use inside the exhibit hall, before, during or after the Show.  

No permission to use an Exhibitor Appointed Contractor will be given for the performance of the following services: 

  • Electrical Service & Labor 

  • Plumbing Services & Labor 

  • Telephone Service & Labor 

  • Drayage/Material Handling 

  • Rigging Service & Labor 

  • Booth Cleaning & Security 

  • Catering 

  • Millwright Labor

Show Management's Discretionary Rights 

Show management reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to withhold approval or to dismiss from the show, any service contractor whose participation in the show may, in the opinion of show management, lead to strikes, picketing, or other labor action directed at the show, or other disruption of the show, or unreasonable interference with or inconvenience to the show or any of the exhibitors. 

Temporary Work Passes  


SFA Show Management 

Temporary Work Pass procedures are established to protect Exhibitors and their property at the Show. Please note that Exhibitors will be held responsible for any person they allow access to the Show floor with an exhibitor badge or temporary work pass.  


Temporary Work Passes are for:  

  • Move-In and Move-Out Days ONLY. 

  • People helping to set up or dismantle exhibitors’ booth. 

  • People delivering small product samples and/or materials to your booth. 

  • People 16 years of age or older. 

Temporary Work Passes are NOT for: 

  • Show Days/Hours. 

  • Booth personnel, demonstrators, sales representatives, agents, hosts, hostesses, etc. 

  • Exhibitor Appointed Contractors (EAC’s)/Display Houses. 

  • People visiting or delivering to Exhibitor’s booths during Show Days/Hours. 

  • Anyone under the age of 16.  

How to Obtain a Temporary Work Pass:  

  • Temporary Work Passes may be picked up in the Show Office during Move-In and Move-Out days/hours. 

  • Pass holders will need the following:  

    • Photo ID AND 

    • Business card with Exhibiting Company name OR Letter from Exhibiting Company explaining why a temporary pass is needed and taking responsibility for the pass holder.  

    • There will be NO EXCEPTIONS granted if the person does not have the required documentation.  

 

Installation & Operation 

Booth displays must be completed one hour prior to the Show opening.  

Booths and displays (including products) must remain intact until the Show’s official end date and time. Penalties may be imposed for early dismantling of a booth or display.  


Sound Levels 

Sound levels of presentations should be kept within the confines of the booth area and must not interfere with neighboring exhibits. Displays found to be objectionable due to noise level will result in the closure of the Exhibitor’s Booth.  

Playing music is prohibited, unless that is the product you are selling.  


Video & Photography 

Exhibitors are only permitted to photograph or video their own booth. Only credentialed media are permitted to photograph & video record all areas of the show.  


Celebrities 

If you plan to have a guest celebrity in your Booth, please contact Michele Hilton by email at [email protected] to make the appropriate arrangements 


Games, Prizes & Drawings 

Exhibitors may not conduct contests, sweepstakes or games of chance at the Fancy Food Show venue.  


Personal Mobility Devices 

Personal mobility devices, with or without motors, (such as hoverboards, skateboards, uni-wheels, etc.) are prohibited on the Show floor.  

Accessibility devices, like wheelchairs and motorized scooters are permitted on the Show floor and available for rent onsite.
