Ecommerce, the home as a hub, holistic health, and no sugar snacks are four pandemic trends that will stick around, according to PepsiCo chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta, reports Consumer Goods Technology.
As consumers continue to engage with brands online, Laguarta said that PepsiCo has aligned its investment priorities (including ecommerce capabilities, supply chain, and advertising models) to better serve them.
Similarly, Laguarta notes that while consumers are venturing out more and more, they are still doing a lot of their activities at home; and a return to the office may not be for everyone.
“We foresee a flexible working model where consumers are going to spend more time at home and they're not going to go back to the office kind of every day of the week — obviously certain type of people, not everybody,” he said.
As far as food trends, Laguarta has noticed that shoppers are seeking products that support their physical and mental health. Portion control and no-sugar snacks, in particular, are popular with consumers. Full Story
