Albertsons Cos. debuted Wednesday its Flash grocery service, allowing customers to receive their DriveUp & Go and delivery orders in as little as 30 minutes.

Available at more than 2,000 locations, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, ACME, and Tom Thumb banner stores, the service furthers the retailer’s commitment to providing fast, convenient, and high-quality grocery essentials, according to Albertsons.

“Shoppers today want fast pickup and delivery, and Albertsons is meeting this expectation with our new Flash service,” said Stephen Menaquale, SVP of ecommerce and fulfillment for Albertsons Cos, in a statement. "Whether you’re missing a key ingredient for tonight’s dinner, or need a healthy snack for your kid’s lunchbox, families can turn to Albertsons to quickly replenish their food and household staples.”

The Flash pickup and delivery options are available when ordering through the company’s website or mobile app. Basket sizes for this type of order are capped at 35 items.

Members of the company’s FreshPass program, which costs $99 a year or $12.99 per month, will receive complimentary Flash pickup and pay a Flash delivery fee of $2 per order. Other customers can utilize Flash pickup for $3.95 per order, or Flash delivery for $11.95 per order.
