Wegmans has begun hiring and training for 300 part-time positions in lower Manhattan’s Astor Place store in New York City, slated to open this fall.

The Astor place team is accepting online applications for a variety of part-time openings across every department in the store, from culinary roles to customer service representatives, including overnight shifts for stocking and food production. Hiring for full-time jobs began last fall and is ongoing for select positions, including shift leaders, foodservice managers, and cooks.

“At Wegmans we pride ourselves in offering flexible scheduling, including overnight shifts, that help our employees maintain a quality work/life balance,” said store manager Matt Dailor, in a statement. “We offer a competitive benefits package, premium pay on Sundays and holidays, and tuition assistance through the company’s employee scholarship program.”

The 82,000-square-foot store will stock many grab-and-go meal offerings.

The Astor Place location will be New York City’s second to open. It will employ over 550, most of whom will be hired locally.
