Heather Paul

Specialty Food Association
2025
Hall of Fame

Heather Paul spent 29 years at the Specialty Food Association, where she helped champion the needs of small businesses and specialty food innovators as a Government Relations Specialist. Her journey into the industry happened by accident — a chance placement by an employment agency led her to an interview at Ferrara’s Bakery, which quickly connected her to SFA (then NASFT) and a role with former SFA President John Roberts.

During her time with the Association, Heather laid the groundwork for a productive partnership with Mintel and helped launch what is now the SFA Hall of Fame program. When the Fancy Food Show was hosted in Washington, D.C., Heather was instrumental in recruiting more than 10 chefs from the White House to attend. Over the years, Heather’s favorite part of her work was the people—especially the passionate entrepreneurs who took risks on a family recipe or a dream—and the joy of watching their products succeed.

Now retired, Heather continues to share her love of food by recommending favorite products at her local stores. She also tutors elementary and middle school students in reading and pursues her passions for painting, sketching, and creative expression.
