Kerry Bamberger is the CEO of BWI, Inc., an importer and distributor known for bringing beloved British and European specialty foods to U.S. shelves. Her journey began with a cup of tea and a biscuit — after moving from the UK to America, she longed for this simple taste of home but failed to find it anywhere. That spark of nostalgia ignited a passion that’s fueled her career for more than 30 years. 

A member of the Specialty Food Association for more than three decades, Kerry has always been drawn to food’s power to connect people. “It’s innovative, never-ending, and communal,” she says. “We get the fun job of selling a little bit of nostalgia — of helping someone rediscover the joy of something they’ve missed.” 

Today, Kerry finds excitement in watching the next generation grow into the industry, a new wave of professionals who will benefit from her nearly four decades of work on building relationships and bringing fresh ideas to the specialty foods market.
