The Fine Cheese Co.

Thirty years ago, we opened our first store in Bath, England. From the beginning, cheese was at the heart of our business. That is why we are called The Fine Cheese Co.: and we have always been selectors and affineurs of the best artisanal British and European cheese. From the outset, we had a motto that remains true to this day: ‘Seek out the best, and, when you’ve found it, keep looking’ and, because of our obsession with quality, our business has grown – not least in the USA, where we have been present for some 20 years. Because we loved cheese, we did not want it to be lonely. So, 15 years ago, we bought a long-established bakery to produce crackers, and give our cheese a partner for life. We named our bakery Artisan Biscuits, and here we use generously only natural ingredients. We sift, weigh, mix and work our dough the old-fashioned way and apply the same hand-baking methods that we have for decades. We were the first to link specific crackers with specific cheeses – an idea copied so many times. But our pairings are authoritative because we remain the only artisanal cheese company with its own bakery.
