George G. Gellert

After completing Cornell in 1963 and military service in 1966, George joined Atalanta, an importer of canned meats and cheese with annual net sales of $81 million. Today, George has grown the enterprise into the largest family owned food importer in North America, with thousands of products and annual sales in excess of $1 billion. George attributes much of his success to the three generations of the Gellert Family who work with him at Atalanta.
