Farnell Packaging invests an Undisclosed Sum in Seal the Seasons as part of a Strategic Partnership for Packaging Sustainability

DURHAM, N.C. – Farnell Packaging, a 2025 PAC Global Award winning sustainable packaging manufacturer, has invested an undisclosed sum via convertible note in Seal the Seasons, an emerging frozen fruit brand focused on locally sourced produce and smoothie innovation.

The investment is part of a broader strategic partnership focused on sustainable better for you CPG products, reduction of plastic packaging waste, and maximizing competitive advantage from North American economic collaboration under the USMCA.

“Farnell has been our trusted packaging supplier for almost 10 years delivering on quality, sustainability, and top-notch customer service” said Patrick Mateer, CEO of Seal the Seasons, “I am proud to strengthen our ties with a great Canadian company and highlight the immense economic benefit that North American free trade provides both the American and Canadian people.”

Farnell Packaging has already been instrumental in transitioning Seal the Seasons packaging into a recyclable format. Farnell Packaging’s investment in sustainable packaging manufacturing and substrate sourcing allowed Seal the Seasons to transition to a mono-material high density polyethylene (HDPE) structure from a non-recyclable PET/LDPE multi-plastic structure. HDPE material can be recycled at the grocery store alongside plastic grocery bags.

“This partnership reflects our belief that sustainable packaging must be both scalable and practical for growing brands.” Added Joel Rudolph, CEO of Farnell Packaging, “Seal the Seasons shares our commitment to reducing environmental impact through innovation, and we’re proud to support that journey.”

The companies are furthering sustainability goals in 2025 through incorporation of post-consumer recycled (PCR) input substrates. It is estimated by the U.S. EPA and How2Recycle partners that PCR can reduce GHG emissions from flexible polyethylene packaging by up to 60% compared to virgin resin. Farnell has invested in advanced extrusion and printing equipment to support PCR content integration and recyclable mono-material film development, ensuring they meet evolving customer and regulatory requirements in food packaging.

Beyond material partnership on Seal the Seasons brand, the companies will collaborate to expand usage of sustainable packaging in the consumer packaged goods space generally and will bring sustainable packaging options to owned brands in frozen grocery.
