SFA members Hellenic Farms and Gourmet Foods International have teamed up to share Yiayia (the word for grandmother in Greek) along with all her friends at Krogers nationwide. The popular Cretan Island rusks made with all-natural ingredients and following traditional recipes, along with the infused extra virgin olive oils were chosen to be featured at Murray’s Cheese counters. They will have their own special spot at the counters presented in Yiayia display shippers exclusively made for the products! The line is also making its debut at Ralphs and Fry’s markets.
Hellenic Farms is proudly a 100% woman-owned business that exclusively imports gourmet Greek products from the motherland. They are winners of a handful of SOFI awards for their various gourmet goodies!
Yiayia and Friends re-imagines and re-introduces traditional notions of life, superior quality food products, culinary objects and epicurean artefacts of yesteryear. At the heart of this design project, “Yiayia” (“granny” in Greek) is glorified in a key-storyline as the super-powerful, all-knowing but the also discreet person that she is. Together with her “friends” from both the human and animal kingdom the art of growing, cooking and sharing food, along with everything that is attached to it, is remembered, re-introduced, and re-imagined for generations to come.
