Katz’s Delicatessen Reimagines Its Classic Chili with Sababa Foods’ Saturday Sauce

Debuting in-store at Katz’s on October 1, the revamped chili highlights Sababa’s growing foodservice business

New York, NY – September 24, 2025 Katz’s Delicatessen, the legendary New York institution serving guests since 1888, will debut a refreshed take on its classic chili beginning October 1, 2025, exclusively in-store. In partnership with Sababa Foods, the CPG brand celebrated for bringing authentic Middle Eastern flavors to modern kitchens, Katz’s chili will now feature Sababa’s signature Saturday Sauce, adding bold, layered flavor to a deli staple that has warmed generations of New Yorkers.

The partnership is especially meaningful, uniting Sababa Foods founder Amy Dell with her husband, Jake Dell, fifth-generation owner of Katz’s Delicatessen. While Katz’s has remained true to its classic recipes for more than a century, the deli has also embraced thoughtful updates that honor its roots. This partnership reflects that spirit, blending tradition with a fresh perspective shaped by the couple’s shared commitment to food, family, and community.

This launch also underscores Sababa’s expansion into foodservice, with Saturday Sauce now available in 1-gallon jugs and soon in 40 pound bag-in-box formats for restaurants, hotels, caterers, event operations, and more. These larger formats ensure consistent flavor while streamlining operations, saving valuable labor and prep time in busy kitchens. With its debut at Katz’s Delicatessen, Saturday Sauce demonstrates how chefs and operators can bring bold, authentic flavor at scale, marking just the beginning of Sababa’s foodservice growth.

To highlight this partnership, Sababa Foods will join Designer Susan Alexandra and Founder and Designer Jessica Chep of Designed by Chep for Stitch & Sauce: A Love Letter to the Lower East Side, a community pop-up on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Susan Alexandra’s Orchard Street boutique (33 Orchard Street). Guests will have the chance to taste the new Katz’s x Saturday Sauce Chili, shop Sababa’s Saturday Sauce and enjoy custom hand embroidery by Designed by Chep.

Sababa’s Saturday Sauce is available online at www.sababa-foods.com, on Amazon and at select retailers across the country – the full list of locations can be found HERE.
