Old Cheese, New Leader Come to Summer Fancy Food Show

Old Cheese, New Leader Come to Summer Fancy Food Show

Le Gruyère AOP General Manager to Attend Prestigious Event

NEW YORK (June 29, 2025) — Food trends come and go, but the classics remain.

From June 29-July 1, the century-old Le Gruyère AOP, will again showcase what becomes of artisan mastery of Swiss craft during the Specialty Food Association's Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

This time around, a new general manager for the Le Gruyère AOP consortium will make his way to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York, too.

Olivier Isler, who took the reins on June 1, will make his debut at the show representing the staple consortium in the cheese world for the first time. Isler has a degree in dairy engineering, is a trained cheesemaker and has a long history working in the dairy business realm.

Isler knows cheese. It's only natural that he should lead efforts of the world's best, Le Gruyère AOP, succeeding the previous director Philippe Bardet.

"My background reflects how deeply I value the system of geographical indications in safeguarding a centuries-old heritage production," Isler said in a recent consortium update. "The collaboration between producers, processors, and ripeners to protect Le Gruyère AOP is impressive. They work together to ensure quality, manage the designation, promote it, regulate supply and constantly innovate."

Those looking to revisit a favorite flavor or to try it for the first time should visit Le Gruyère AOP at level three, booth #745, at this summer's show.
