SalsaBut Different; AnnaMaria's Foods has the first Italian Chip Dip

Cliffside Park NJ (June 19, 2023)--The chips & dips market has been consistently growing in the US for the past two decades. Now you can dip your tortilla, pita or lentil chips in Bagna Rossa, the Italian tomato dip, from AnnaMaria’s Foods.  Bagna Rossa is a unique new offering in the salsa category, with 3 flavors, Basil, Olive and Spicy.  The Basil base, leaps into a world of rich and vibrant Italian tomatoes, basil, garlic, balsamic vinegar and veggies. The Olive adds a mix of green and black olives to the palate, while the Spicy warms your mouth with Italian crushed red pepper.

Dominique Debroux, founder of AnnaMaria’s Foods, is an immigrant from Piemonte, in the northwest of Italy. She started the company to share the traditional recipes that she grew up with. “Piemonte has a tradition of dips that we usually use with meats and fish, Bagna is the Piemontese dialect for dip.” explains Dominique, “In my time in the US I have fallen in love with chips and dips, it’s my favorite way of snacking. But when it comes to salsas, I missed the basil, garlic, olive oil and balsamic flavors from my youth. So, I made Bagna Rossa (red dip). It has a short cook to retain the fresh feeling of a bruschetta yet long enough to marry all the rich flavors together. It’s a Salsa, but different!”

Bagnas are made locally in the US with the Italian attention to natural ingredients and great flavor. “We launched Bagnas in a specialty grocery store chain in early 2020. Then the pandemic hit and we couldn’t do demos to introduce this new product.” Dominique recalls, “I thought we were doomed, but because the stores merchandised the Bagnas with their premium chips, customers picked it up.  When they tasted it, they kept coming back!”

Americans love to snack and millennials will more readily grab some chips and dip than sit down for a whole meal. AnnaMaria’s Bagna Rossa opens up a whole new flavor profile for our snacking pleasure.

Come to Booth #5447 at the Fancy Food Show NYC to taste the Italian direction of salsa. Bagna is as good with all the new types of chips and artisan crackers as it is with the usual tortilla chip.
