Experience a range of Extra Virgin Olive Oils from Eight Producers and Five Countries
Explore the EVA Criteria and +Factors
June 16, 2025, Neptune, NJ — Learn what makes extra virgin olive so special through the stories—and flavors—of Extra Virgin Alliance (EVA) certified products. Currently, 38 extra virgin olive oils belong to EVA, and a selection of 27 of them will be part of this year’s EVA pavilion.
EVA is the specialty olive oil section of the North American Olive Oil Association, the largest olive oil trade association in America, with over 60 companies that produce, import and/or market olive oils, ranging in size from small to large, from over 10 countries—including seven who produce or market California olive oils.
To become EVA certified, oils must meet quality and purity requirements as well as production and packaging specifications. Producers must also demonstrate a noteworthy measure of what we call the EVA “+Factors,” designations that cover a wide range of practices in three categories: The Oil, The Land, and The People. This includes farming, environmental stewardship, production, transparency, social responsibility, and community engagement.
“The Fancy Food Show is an ideal venue for showcasing these exceptional extra virgin olive oils. This year we have products from Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and the United States (California)” says EVA Director Alexandra Devarenne. “We invite attendees to visit the Extra Virgin Alliance pavilion to taste the oils and explore their histories.” New to this year’s Fancy Food Show are Psyche Organic from Kalamata, Greece and Olivaia from California, USA.
EVA certified oils come from producers who are representative of those around the world who are dedicated to crafting extraordinary and delicious oils while protecting the environment and improving their communities.

Extra Virgin Alliance, the specialty olive oil section of the North American Olive Oil Association, builds appreciation of extra virgin olive oil by telling the many stories of the extraordinary olive oils made by producers who champion flavor, are custodians of the land, and who are steeped in tradition while innovating for the future. Founded in 2012 to create an organization to illuminate and celebrate quality extra virgin olive oils from around the world, EVA merged with NAOOA in 2022. For 2025, EVA has certified 38 oils from 7 countries and 17 producers. The EVA seal signals to shoppers that the oil has met or exceeded our stringent requirements. Visit the EVA Product Directory for details.
North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA) established in 1989, is a trade association of 78 companies interested in the marketing of olive oils in the U.S., including but not limited to producers, packagers, and importers of olive oil, as well as laboratories and export associations. The olive oil category includes oils that are good, better and best, and the NAOOA represents them all. NAOOA members hail from 11 countries, including all the major olive oil producing countries.
