Candy on Easter Shopping Lists

Easter candy

The vast majority (92 percent) of Americans who will celebrate Easter this year will do so with chocolate and candy, according to the Nation Confectioners Association.

According to NCA’s 2024 State of Treating report, consumers typically buy confectionery in three to four different channels, led by supercenters (74 percent), supermarkets (68 percent), drug stores (33 percent), value stores (28 percent), club stores (28 percent), and convenience stores (27 percent).

"The Easter season signals the start of spring – and is a perfect showcase of the continued excitement consumers have for incorporating chocolate and candy into their special occasions. No matter what treats they prefer, Americans can agree that every celebration is sweeter with chocolate and candy,” said John Downs, president and CEO of the National Confectioners Association, in a statement.
