Chipotle Mexican Grill is dropping its trademark lawsuit against Sweetgreen after the chain said it would change the name of its Chipotle Chicken Burrito Bowl to the Chicken + Chipotle Pepper Bowl, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Chipotle filed the lawsuit Tuesday, saying Sweetgreen’s original name used capital letters for chipotle, mimicking Chipotle’s logo and confusing customers.
According to the complaint, Chipotle sent a letter to Sweetgreen before filing the lawsuit with suggestions for new, “more appropriate” names, including “chicken bowl with chipotle.” Full Story (Subscription Required).
