Wegmans, ShopRite Open New Locations
Wegmans opened a new store today in Yardley, Pennsylvania. The location is Wegmans’ 111th store overall and the 19th location in the state.
The 88,000-square-foot store offers approximately 1,200 wines, 500 varieties of domestic, craft, and imported beers and ciders.
Restaurant foods prepared by Executive Chef Ryan Franks and his culinary staff of 85 include specialties such as fresh sushi, pizza, and wings, to hot soup, freshly made salads, and sandwiches. The location also features Asian-inspired cuisine, a self-serve coffee station featuring Wegmans’ signature coffee, hot cocoa, and espresso drinks, and packaged, ready-to-go entrees and sides.
The seafood department features fish sourced daily from fishing families on the east coast, across the country, and around the world. The store also includes a produce section with hundreds of fruits and vegetables, including many organic choices, and a cheese shop that has specialty and artisan cheeses produced domestically or imported from around the world.
Customers can complete their grocery shopping online for curbside pickup or delivery to their door in as little as one hour.
ShopRite, meanwhile, debuted an 80,000-square-foot, full-service store in Old Bridge, New Jersey, Sunday. The store replaces an existing location.
Expert butchers and fishmongers staff the meat and seafood counters, and an expanded produce department includes organics, fresh cut fruit and vegetables, and specialty grapes and berries. Chef-prepared grab-and-go options including hand-rolled sushi, gourmet meals and sandwiches, a Shuk Kosher kitchen and prepared meals, over 600 varieties of cheeses, and specialty soup and coffee bars that incorporate the popular Gourmet Garage and Fairway Market brands. The store also includes a pharmacy.
