De Nigris Launches “A Summer of Italian Taste” at the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show

The campaign debuts with the launch of Solare, a limited-time piadina created in collaboration with Piadi by La Piadineria and featuring De Nigris Fig Glaze, before expanding through a series of authentic Italian culinary experiences across New York throughout the summer

NEW YORK, NY – July 1, 2026 – De Nigris 1889, a global leader in premium vinegars and condiments and the first brand to develop balsamic vinegar in Modena, is bringing Italian flavors to New York City through its new consumer campaign, “A Summer of Italian Taste.” Designed to reimagine balsamic vinegar from a simple ingredient into a celebration of Italian lifestyle, culture and cuisine, the campaign will come to life through a series of culinary partnerships, tastings and experiences across the city that showcase the versatility of De Nigris products.

At the center of the campaign is a leading partnership with PIADI by La Piadineria - Italy’s largest fast-casual restaurant chain, with over 550 locations across Italy and a rapidly growing presence in France.  Following the opening of its first U.S. restaurant earlier this year, PIADI is introducing Americans to a new category of Italian dining—authentic Italian fast casual. Rooted in Italy's everyday food culture, the concept combines freshly prepared piadine - a traditional Italian flatbread, premium Italian ingredients, speed and full customization in an experience designed for today's consumer. Every piadina is freshly rolled, baked and filled to order in an open kitchen bringing one of Italy's most beloved everyday foods to New York in a modern, accessible format.

Unveiled at the Summer Fancy Food Show, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment by De Nigris and Piadi to showcase how premium Italian ingredients can drive product innovation while introducing American consumers to authentic Italian fast casual.

Developed jointly by the two brands, Solare is a limited-time summer recipe available through September 22 at Piadi's flagship Flatiron location. The special piadina combines high quality Prosciutto di Parma, creamy burrata, arugula, cherry tomatoes, fig chutney and the rich sweetness of De Nigris' premium Fig Glaze, demonstrating how carefully selected Italian ingredients can create fresh flavor combinations without compromising authenticity. Solare is available throughout the summer for $14 at Piadi's flagship restaurant at 18 E. 23rd Street.

“De Nigris this summer provides a meaningful opportunity to showcase both our heritage and our vision for the future,” said Michela De Nigris, Business Development Manager. “Through A Summer of Italian Taste and the partnership with Piadi – La Piadineria, we want consumers, retailers and food professionals to experience the versatility of balsamic vinegar and discover how it can elevate everyday culinary moments.”

De Nigris balsamic vinegar will also be featured drizzled over pizza and gelato, demonstrating the many ways balsamic vinegar can elevate both contemporary menus and traditional favorites.

Beyond the collaboration with Piadi, A Summer of Italian Taste has kicked off across New York with additional activations featuring Gelato by Patrizia and Unregular Pizza. Together, these collaborations have invited consumers to discover how premium Italian ingredients can transform everyday dishes through a series of limited-time culinary experiences available across the city.

At Gelato by Patrizia’s Flatiron location, guests can find classic fior di latte gelato made with latte di Bufala paired with De Nigris balsamic vinegar through July 31. The pairing celebrates the beloved Italian tradition that balances creamy sweetness and acidity of premium balsamic vinegar. In June, customers at Unregular Pizza’s Union Square location enjoyed the pizza including De Nigris balsamic vinegar drizzled over homemade porchetta, burrata, cherry tomato confit and Parmigiano Reggiano on Unregular Pizza’s signature Roman-style pizza.

About De Nigris 1889

Founded in 1889, De Nigris is a leader in the production and export of vinegars and condiments and was the first label to develop balsamic vinegar in Modena, one of the nine provinces of Emilia-Romagna located in Northeastern Italy’s Po River Valley. De Nigris vinegar is a certified PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) vinegar. These certifications not only attest to the quality that is assured and monitored, but also the origin and traceability of the vinegar related to a particular geographic location. Created by master vinegar maker Armando De Nigris, the family-owned label first opened their first vinegar mill in 1889. After initial and continued success, Marcello De Nigris launched the label’s products onto the international market and widened the product range to include various categories of balsamic vinegar. Today, De Nigris represents 27% of Italian vinegar exports and 24% of the production of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
