After transforming more than 40,000 pounds of New York-grown vegetables and dairy into premium frozen meals, founders Sarah and Alex Cookfair are bringing their farmer-built frozen food company to New York’s premier specialty food event.
New York, NY — As Finger Foods Farm makes its debut at the Summer Fancy Food Show (Booth 7024A), the farmer-founded company is celebrating another milestone: transforming more than 40,000 pounds of New York-grown ingredients into premium frozen meals in less than nine months.
After spending more than a decade growing vegetables for wholesale markets, founders Sarah and Alex Cookfair saw firsthand the disconnect between the care that goes into growing exceptional produce and the economics of modern agriculture. They could grow outstanding vegetables, but too often the market rewarded volume over flavor, leaving farmers with little opportunity to capture the value of their work.
Rather than simply growing more acres, they decided to build something different.
In October 2025, the husband-and-wife farming team launched Finger Foods Farm, a premium frozen food company built on a simple idea: better convenience food starts long before the recipe. It starts with healthy soil, thoughtfully selected vegetable varieties, and harvesting ingredients at their peak.
“As farmers, we noticed that many of the best ingredients never made it into the packaged foods because they didn’t fit the economics or constraints of large-scale manufacturing,” said Sarah Cookfair, co-founder of Finger Foods Farm. “We saw an opportunity to create a different supply chain—one that gives exceptional ingredients a path to consumers. Because in the end, healthy, flavorful food starts with the right ingredients.”
Unlike many food companies, Finger Foods Farm begins product development months before cooking ever starts—selecting vegetable varieties for flavor, sourcing peak-quality ingredients from New York farms, cooking in small batches, and freezing each soup to preserve freshness without preservatives. The company’s product line currently includes Broccoli Cheddar, Butternut Squash, Southwest Vegetable, and Tuscan Bean soups, with additional products in development.
This week, Finger Foods Farm will make its debut at the Summer Fancy Food Show at Booth 7024A,, where attendees can meet the founders and sample the company’s frozen soup line.
