Founder, Eric Sorkin handing reins over to current CFO, Ashley Wainer
FAIRFAX, VERMONT (May 13, 2026) – Ashley Wainer is joining Runamok full-time as President & CFO, with a planned transition into the CEO role by the close of this year. At that point, founder and current CEO Eric Sorkin will move into the Chairman role.
Wainer has served as Runamok’s fractional CFO since 2023 and has been deeply involved in virtually every aspect of the business, including sales strategy, operations, topline growth, and organizational development. Her impact has been substantial, and the entire Runamok team is looking forward to having her full-time.
Ms. Wainer spent the first part of her career in public accounting with KPMG before moving to Vermont Gas Systems, where she spent over 12 years rising from regulatory accountant to executive roles spanning finance, operations, and new product development. She founded Ripcord Consulting in late 2022 and quickly built it into a successful fractional and advisory practice.
Wainer and Sorkin complement each other well. She brings financial discipline, operational rigor, and strong organizational instincts. With her leading day-to-day operations and ultimately stepping into the CEO role, Sorkin will shift to Chairman, where he can focus on brand, business development, and the strategic relationships that will drive Runamok’s next phase of growth.
