NEW YORK, NY — May 2026 — Oval Coffee Roasters, the New York City-based specialty coffee company focused on approachable light and light-to-medium roast coffees, announced expanded distribution throughout DeCicco & Sons Markets locations across Westchester and Putnam Counties, bringing its Whole Bean and Pour Over Single Serve coffee formats to one of the Northeast’s leading independent grocery operators.
For Oval Coffee Roasters, the expansion reflects a long-standing retail relationship between Co-Founder Andrew Itzkowitz and the DeCicco family spanning nearly two decades across multiple consumer packaged goods categories.
Nearly twenty years ago, Itzkowitz worked alongside his parents, Sid and Cindy Itzkowitz of Cinderella Sweets, helping introduce the company’s gluten-free cakes and cookies division during the early growth stages of the gluten-free category. After reaching out to DeCicco & Sons Markets during that period, Joe DeCicco Jr. approved the products onto shelves at a time when gluten-free remained far from mainstream retail.

Over the years, Itzkowitz continued working alongside the DeCicco & Sons organization across multiple categories and brands, including Bonne Maman preserves through Andros Foods North America, Yogi Tea, refrigerated plant-based products including MyForest Foods’ MyBacon, and now Oval Coffee Roasters.
Founded in 1973 in the Bronx by John DeCicco Sr., DeCicco & Sons operates locations throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties and is known for premium grocery experiences centered around specialty foods, prepared meals, local brands, and curated beverage programs.
Oval Coffee Roasters currently offers Whole Bean Coffee and its signature Pour Over Single Serve format — a machine-free pour-over coffee filter designed to brew directly over a mug using only hot water. Over the coming months, Oval Coffee Roasters Co-Founders Christopher Alspach and Andrew Itzkowitz will conduct in-store demos throughout DeCicco & Sons Markets locations, helping customers explore light and light-to-medium roast specialty coffees that many may be experiencing for the first time.
