After launching America's first National Pinsa Day and driving nationwide awareness of the Roman specialty, Di Marco builds on U.S. momentum at the SFA Summer Fancy Food Show in NYC
NEW YORK – June 29, 2026 – On the heels of celebrating the first-ever National Pinsa Day in the United States, Di Marco, the inventors of modern pinsa, is returning to the Summer Fancy Food Show to build on the category's growing momentum and introduce even more consumers and industry professionals to the Original Roman Pinsa.
On May 28, Di Marco officially launched National Pinsa Day, a new annual observance established through the National Day Archives to celebrate the rapid growth of pinsa—a lighter, crispier Roman alternative to traditional pizza—and its expanding presence across restaurants and retail shelves nationwide.
Based on the legacy of Corrado Di Marco, the Original Roman Pinsa is crafted from a unique blend of flours, approximately 80% hydration, and a signature long-fermentation process. This decades-long evolution of Roman baking traditions creates a distinctively airy base that continues to gain popularity in both professional kitchens and homes across the United States. National Pinsa Day established a recurring opportunity to celebrate these authentic Roman origins while introducing more consumers to pinsa as a modern, premium evolution of a beloved classic.
"National Pinsa Day marked a historic milestone for pinsa," said Corrado Di Marco, founder of Di Marco. "Seeing something rooted in our Roman tradition embraced across the United States has been incredibly rewarding. We are excited to continue that momentum and introduce even more people to the authentic taste and craftsmanship behind Original Roman Pinsa."
To celebrate the inaugural National Pinsa Day, Di Marco partnered with Eataly Flatiron to launch a dedicated pinsa kiosk near Madison Square Park, serving freshly prepared Original Roman Pinsa from May 27 through June 30. The company also brought Roman history to life through branded centurions and an ornate Roman lectica that traveled throughout New York City, creating memorable consumer experiences while guiding visitors to discover pinsa firsthand.
An exclusive kickoff event hosted with I Love Italian Food at the House of Made in Italy further celebrated pinsa's growing role in modern Italian gastronomy with culinary discussions, tastings, and awards recognizing leading U.S. pinserias.
"National Pinsa Day was more than a celebration of a food product—it celebrated Roman history and the arrival of an entirely new food category in America," said Alberto Di Marco, CEO of Di Marco. "As we return to the Summer Fancy Food Show, we're excited to continue building awareness, expand our partnerships, and help even more consumers experience what makes Original Roman Pinsa so unique."
At this year's SFA Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City, Di Marco will showcase its authentic Pinsa while connecting with retailers, distributors, foodservice operators, and media as demand continues to grow throughout the U.S. market. Attendees are invited to visit Di Marco at Booth #3331 in Exhibit Hall Level 3 to sample Pinsa and learn more about its versatility across foodservice and retail.
