New Confections to Debut at Winter Show

Specialty Food Association

Specialty food makers are experimenting with innovative flavors with their confectionery offerings. The following Winter Fancy Food Show exhibitors are changing processes, inspirations, and tastes to fit more flavor into these products.

Kopper’s Chocolate has used the chocolate panning process in its handcrafted chocolate line, which is used to coat a base, often a nut, in chocolate. The brand will showcase its Chocolate Sea Salt Chia Almonds and Mexican Hot Cocoa Bites at the Winter Show, with samples available at booth #2201. The Chia Almond product is made with dark chocolate and Himalayan pink sea salt, and the Hot Cocoa Bite coats marshmallow in dark chocolate, with a cinnamon and sugar dusting.

“For over 85 years, Kopper’s Chocolate has wowed chocolate lovers with handcrafted panned chocolates”, said Jenna Siegel, senior sales and marketing coordinator of Kopper’s Chocolate, in a statement. “Now after really focusing on innovation over the last few years, it’s time to showcase our creations.”

Ross Chocolates, a sugar-free chocolate maker, uses ingredients that are free of gluten, maltitol, and GMOs to appeal to diabetic populations and Keto dieters. It will debut the No Sugar Added Chocolate-Covered Almonds & Hazelnuts, as well as Le Guerbois, a no sugar added chocolate line decorated with works of art from impressionist painters, available in a variety of flavors. Samples will be available at booth #3252.

Jelly Belly plans to reveal additions to its Harry Potter-inspired jelly bean collection and Scottie Dogs licorice line, as well as a greeting card filled with jelly beans at booth #1917.

“We’re looking forward to being back at the Winter Fancy Food Show this year,” said Rob Swaigen, VP of global marketing at Jelly Belly, in a statement. “In 2023 we’ll be expanding two very popular lines with new offerings, additions that we’re confident will make a big impact with both longtime and new Jelly Belly fans.”

The Harry Potter line will now include Jelly Beans, Chewy Candy, and Milk Chocolate all infused with the flavor of Butterbeer, a drink consumed in the movie and book series, and featured at Wizarding World in Universal Studios. Scottie Dogs will present its newest Strawberry Licorice flavor in addition to the grab and go small-format bags.
