Non-Alcoholic Beverages Highlighted at Show

Mocktails, non-alcoholic beverages that include the flavor and complexity of their alcoholic counterparts, will make an impact at the Summer Fancy Food Show, taking place June 25-27. An up-and-coming category, it is no surprise that brands continue to innovate flavors and formats.

Abstinence Spirits USA announced the launch of its alcohol-free, ready-to-drink Sparkling Blood Orange Aperitivo Spritz and Sparkling Lemon Aperitivo Spritz. Available in 750-ml bottles, the beverages can be consumed chilled, poured over ice, and garnished with citrus slices.

"We're taking our customer favorites and making them available in an accessible, ready-to-drink format,” said Abstinence Spirits USA CEO Ranwei Chiang in a statement. “Ready to take to parties, events, or to spend an evening at home. We're excited to introduce our great tasting, sophisticated, balanced flavors in this new line!"

The low-sugar, zero-proof products make with small-batch distilled botanicals will be showcased at booth #5957.

A spicier alcohol-free option is Uncle Waithley’s Vincy Brew, a ginger beer made with Scotch Bonnet pepper. The small-batch brew makes use of a fermentation technique that helps add complexity without adding alcohol, according to the company.

"It’s an elevated sip on its own, but a versatile mixer for both professionals and DIY cocktailers,” said Karl Franz Williams, founder of the brand, in a statement. “And the flavorful heat of our prized Scotch Bonnet truly captures the spirit of the Caribbean. We are immensely proud of our product and look forward to introducing it to industry tastemakers from around the world.”

The product will be available for sampling in New Now Next, an area featuring products from incubators and startup companies, many of which have yet to hit the market.

Beverage kits from Bluestem Botanicals can be used to make cocktails or mocktails. Dubbed “farm to glass” craft drink kits, the ingredients leverage seasonal farm-grown herbal mixers. The kits come in the following varieties:

• Gin spritzer with Thyme, Elderberry, and a Rosemary aromatizer

• Paloma with Rose Geranium, Spicy Bitters, and a Lemon herb rim

• Botanical Old Fashioned with Ginger, Kumquat, and an Aromatic bitters

Non-alcoholic beverages will be sampled during the Pavilion Pop Up event called Mixing the Mocktails: Beverage Spotlight, taking place Sunday, June 25 at 2 p.m. in Sips Bay in the Beverage Pavilion (Level 1, booth #5524).
