Specialty Food Association

PCC Community Markets is commemorating its 70-year anniversary in 2023 by offering weekly deals on select items between March 29 and April 11, CEO and president Krish Srinivasan shared in a letter to its members.

Offers include:

• Miyoko’s Creamery Organic Cultured Vegan Butter: $5.99 ($1.20 off)

• Ayo Frozen Entrees: $3.99 ($2.90 off)

• Florentina Organic Virgin Sparling Beverages: $12.99 ($2 off)

• Bonne Maman Preserves: $3.99 ($2.60 off)

• Oregon Country Beef Ribeye Roast Bone In: $15.99/lb ($3.00/lb off)

• Organic Bartlett Pears: $2.49/lb ($0.50/lb off)

• Immaculate Baking Co Organic Cinnamon Rolls: $6.99 ($2.00 off)

Srinivasan also noted in the letter that challenges elicited by the COVID pandemic and current economic environment have affected the grocer.

“We know that our community impact extends far beyond just a visit to the grocery store, and we hear, clearly, the challenges that our staff members face with food insecurity and economic pressures,” he said. “Our commitment to a triple bottom line—holding environmental, social, and economic goals equally—has always been a balancing act, but one that has felt nearly impossible to achieve since the pandemic began.”

Through these obstacles, however, Srinivasan shared that PCC didn’t shutter stores nor lay off staff. This decision was motivated by the co-op’s values rather than a financial bottom line, he said.
