Reid's Fine Foods Sells Headquarters

Gourmet market and specialty meat, wine, and locally-sourced food destination Reid’s Fine Foods has sold its east Charlotte, North Carolina, headquarters and operations hub to private equity firm Centerlane Capital for $4.5 million, reports The Charlotte Observer.

According to Reid’s owner Tom Coker, the additional funds will allow the grocer to reallocate money for future expansion. Some plans include adding two stores in north and south Charlotte. It is fielding real estate for these locations, a process that can take a year or longer.

“It was a seamless transaction and we’re committed long-term to Charlotte,” said Coker. “And we’re excited about the future.”

Reid’s is a 95-year-old family-owned business, the oldest specialty grocer in the area. Full Story (Subscription Required)
