Specialty Food Association Logo

The Specialty Food Association offers educational resources to industry stakeholders wanting to learn more about the industry.

Makers, buyers, distributors, and brokers are encouraged to check out the following directories, manuals, and industry research. They are free for members and $200 for non-members.

SFA Recall Manual: The resource will help a specialty food business develop a food safety program with information that explains different types of recalls, details how to build recall strategies, and provides context on how to engage in a recall termination. The manual includes a recall checklist, sample press releases, an appendix of recall terms, and information about related government agencies.

Understanding the Real Value of Specialty Foods: The research evaluates the true profitability of specialty foods relative to mainstream grocery products, the role of specialty foods in creating and retaining shopper trips, the value of distributor-provided services, the importance of specialty foods to younger generations, and the growth of private-label specialty foods and their impact on retailer success and manufacturer opportunity.

Distributor Directory: The guide presents distributors’ contact information, core distribution, trade channels served, territories served, and information about what sets these companies apart.
