Newsweek surveyed over 10,000 U.S. shoppers in 39 product categories to rank the 195 best retailers by channel.
The survey evaluated how each chain succeeds in product offerings, customer service experience, overall atmosphere, location accessibility, and shop layout. Respondents were also asked to remark on how likely they are to recommend the retailer to a friend or family member.
The number of ranked companies in each category is commensurate with the number of eligible retailers. In the Food, Health & Beauty category, discount supermarkets, supermarkets, and superstores/warehouse clubs are ranked below:
