The Chicago-based Asian-inspired oatmeal maker, Yishi Foods, revealed today that it has successfully expanded distribution to all 500+ Whole Foods locations in the U.S.
The brand, a Specialty Food Association member, was founded by Lin Jiang in 2019. She immigrated to the U.S. from China and noticed the oatmeal category needed innovation. She soon began incorporating the flavors and porridge dishes her mother made at home into her daily oatmeal recipes and found a way to bring Asian flavors into the mainstream. "More than ever, shoppers are increasingly demanding breakfast cereals in innovative and delicious flavors that provide a multitude of functional benefits," said Jiang in a statement.
The flavors currently available at Whole Foods are as follows: Taro Bubble Tea, Matcha Latte, and Toasted Black Sesame. Since the company’s official launch, it has sold over 250,000 oatmeal servings, and, by the end of the month, will be available in over 1,000 stores.
