AMARUMAYU and Parent Company AJE Celebrate Efforts in Peru with First-Ever Carbon Neutral Certificate Awarded to Machu Picchu

Los Angeles, Calif. (Sept 28, 2021) — AMARUMAYU, the mission-driven maker of Superfruit Juices from the Amazon, announces that their two immunity-boosting Superfruit Juices — Camu Camu and Buriti — are now available for grocery retail in a new, single-serve 12 oz. size.

These exotic, high-antioxidant Superfruit Juices are sustainably wild-harvested by indigenous communities within the Amazon Rainforest. They are both packed with Vitamin C, Omegas, and Minerals, and made with 100% juice, with no added sugar and no preservatives. Both juices are also a good source of fiber.

With 420% of the daily value of Vitamin C in each 12 oz. bottle, AMARUMAYU’s Camu Camu Superfruit Juice is made with the red, citrusy Camu Camu, grown in the Amazon for thousands of years. This superfruit, with 50 times as much Vitamin C as one orange, makes a nourishing, hydrating beverage.

Made with a yellow fruit from an Amazonian palm tree, Buriti Superfruit Juice supports the immune system and helps rejuvenate the skin, thanks to its high concentration of Vitamins A and C, Omegas 3, 6 and 9, and minerals like Potassium, Iron and Calcium. This refreshing juice is blended with juice from the native Cocona superfruit.

AMARUMAYU, together with its parent company AJE Group, is on a mission to preserve the Amazon Rainforest, prevent deforestation and combat climate change. That steadfast commitment has helped Machu Picchu receive an environmental award known as a Carbon Neutral Certificate.

“When we got to work in the Amazon, Machu Picchu in Peru was at risk of losing its Unesco World Heritage badge,” said Jorge Lopez-Doriga, chief sustainability officer of AMARUMAYU. “Five years later, Machu Picchu has received a Carbon Neutral Certificate from The Green Initiative, thanks to our efforts, along with Inkaterra and the district municipality. Machu Picchu is now the first tourist destination in the world to obtain this honor. We are incredibly proud of the impact of our sustainability work in such a short time and look forward to continuing to fight climate change, protect biodiversity and empower indigenous communities.”

AMARUMAYU’s ready-to-drink juices are shelf-stable and are packaged in resealable, reusable, recyclable aluminum bottles. They are available on Amazon for $28.75 per 6-Pack of 16 oz. bottles. The new 12 oz. single-serve bottles are rolling out for retail distribution nationwide starting October 2021.
