Arya Debuts Authentic Indian Roti at 2023 Summer Fancy Food Show

Award-winning, all-natural flatbreads target expansion beyond ethnic channel

Colonia, New Jersey (June 20, 2023) – Arya, maker of homestyle Indian foods for today’s health-savvy flexitarian foodie, announces its first year as an exhibitor at the Specialty Food Association’s 2023 Summer Fancy Food Show [Booth 4830]. The family-owned company will showcase its innovative line of vegan and all-natural rotis, a skillet-fired flatbread that is a beloved staple across South Asia. Held in the Javits Convention Center in New York City June 25th - 27th, the annual Summer Fancy Food Show is North America’s largest trade show for the $175 billion specialty food industry.

Already generating buzz for the Arya booth is the brand’s recent recognition as the winner of a coveted sofi™ New Product Award for its Methi roti, a golden beauty infused with turmeric and flecked with aromatic fenugreek leaf. Following a rigorous blind tasting by a panel of industry experts, the annual sofi™ Awards recognize standout products across 52 categories, and have earned a reputation from retail buyers, chefs and trendspotters as highlighting the most creative and memorable products of the year. In addition to Methi, Arya will also exhibit its full line of ready-to-eat, uniquely preservative-free roti:

  • Spinach Roti: a garden-green hue from real spinach, studded with rich, earthy cumin seed.
  • Whole Wheat Roti: made with 100% whole wheat flour for a nourishing, naturally nutty bite.
  • Multigrain Roti: a delightfully hearty blend of nutrient-dense grains, flaxseed & chickpeas.
  • Phulka Roti: our all-natural tribute to the classic, made with all-purpose wheat flour.

Sold in 24-ounce, resealable pouches, each 15-pieces pack of Arya rotis retails for $6.99-$7.99 depending on flavor.

“It is a privilege to share our heritage on a national stage, especially with an audience that aligns with our commitment to using wholesome, all-natural ingredients in our traditional recipes,” says Arya founder and CEO, Shridhar Patel. “Before launching Arya, I watched my entrepreneur mother win over our local desi community with her fresh-packed roti and other family favorites, never compromising on real ingredients or traditional technique for the sake of profit. I was inspired by her to stay true to our roots, but with a vision to expand beyond the ethnic channel to stores where my friends and I love to shop. We’re excited to meet forward-thinking buyers and adventurous eaters at the Fancy Food Show, who are eager to experience our products.”

Arya’s roti are proudly crafted, packed fresh and shipped frozen from the company’s New Jersey factory, then sold chilled from a retailer’s fridge case or deli section. Maintaining a perishable distribution chain allows Arya to ensure a premium product experience with all the convenience of a shelf-stable tortilla with none of the chemical preservatives, highly refined gums and starches, partially hydrogenated oils or added sugars.

Sporting a charmingly blistered surface and a supple, chewy-soft texture, every 8-inch roti reveals paper-thin, flaky layers when torn that make them ideal for scooping up rich sauces or stews. More than a sidekick for curry, Arya’s plant-based rotis also swap-in seamlessly for any meal or snack that calls for tortillas, crepes, lavosh or pita. Shridhar and his team invite you to savor a taste of India, from his family’s table to yours.
