SugarRoti's Premium Indian Spice Blends Empower People to Create Healthy and Delicious Meals, Easily

SugarRoti™, a gourmet spice blend CPG company founded by two Bay Area women, celebrated its one year anniversary with the launch of new spice bundles and a subscription model.

SugarRoti’s Nu Spice line features perfectly balanced Indian-inspired spice blends. Rooted in tradition, yet measured and curated for modern cooking. The 15 different blends empower home cooks and chefs alike to create healthy and delicious traditional and modern meals with minimal effort and ingredients. SugarRoti’s offering has evolved with the launch of its bundles and subscription plans. Bundles like ‘Nu to Indian’ feature 4 popular spice blends for easy traditional curries or a simple unique dessert.

SugarRoti’s mission is to make it easy to cook with Indian-inspired spices and empower everyone to experience the fun of creating and cooking healthy delicious meals with a few fresh ingredients and one sustainable spice packet.

“Why buy individual bottles of spices that are used once or twice only to be forgotten in the back of your spice cabinet? We created single-use pre-measured spice blends for ultimate freshness and consistent flavor to empower creative cooking and minimize waste. Prepare a perfectly seasoned meal for 4 with one sustainable package and a few fresh ingredients.”  — Bina Motiram and Dana DuFrane, SugarRoti Co-Founders.

Motiram and DuFrane continue their commitment to running a socially conscious CPG company by continuing to invest in sustainable sourcing throughout the supply chain, utilizing compostable and recyclable packaging and organic ingredients whenever possible.

"We started the business last year to address  a gap we saw in our own kitchens. We developed our easy to use, perfectly blended Indian-inspired spice blends built on tradition and simple ingredients to create healthy and easy meals while remaining mindful of sustainability," said Bina Motiram and Dana DuFrane, SugarRoti Co-Founders. "Our curated spice blends are not only delicious and easy to use but are a way to bring people and families back together in the kitchen, reconnecting over shared meals and build stronger communities in person and online."

The name SugarRoti pays homage to the sweet treat Bina loved as a child - a warmed flatbread (roti) topped with ghee (butter) and a sprinkle of sugar. Simple ingredients that together made something timeless and powerful. "Nu," in Gujarati (Gujarat, India) means "of" or "for." SugarRoti takes Nu to a new place bringing timeless tradition to modern cooks, inspiring them to create easy delicious meals and make  their own Nu modern traditions.

"We are innovating in this space to empower people to cook with and experience the incredible flavors and health benefits of traditional Indian spices, without the intimidation. It’s about being inspired to experiment with new flavors and new dishes, cooking with simple healthy ingredients and having fun," said Motiram.
