Farmer's Fridge Comes to Jewel-Osco

Specialty Food Association

Farmer’s Fridge has begun selling its jars of salad at Jewel-Osco stores in the Chicago area, reports The Spoon. However, the company is still focusing on its core business, which is vending machines that offer fresh, restaurant-quality food including soups, salads, and bowls, according to the report.

“Fridges will continue to be a core part of our business, as they currently generate 40 to 50 percent of our revenue,” a company spokesperson told The Spoon. “We are experiencing strong growth in retail and delivery, and these additional channels played a critical role in helping us exceed pre-pandemic revenue numbers.”

Last year, Farmer’s Fridge also began to offer home delivery service, which it has now expanded to 17 states across the East Coast and Midwest.

“While COVID-19 has impacted our business in many ways, it’s pushed us to expand into the home-delivery category,” Luke Saunders, founder and CEO of Farmer's Fridge, told SFA News Daily last June. “We now have multiple channels to meet our customers where they are. Whether they’re at work, school, traveling, or working remote—we’re increasing access to fresh healthy food, furthering our mission of making it simple for everyone to eat well.” Full Story
