The Pride of Penn State: MarRosa's to End Extraordinary Year with Visit to 2022 'Fancy Food Show'

Specialty Food Association

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Penn., May 13, 2022 — After winning $15,000 dollars in the Penn State University Inc.U pitch competition, Founder and CEO of “MarRosa’s Old World Cuisine”, Marcella Marino, announces she will finish off her inaugural year in business with an appearance at the Summer 2022 ‘Fancy Food’ Trade Show in New York. This will mark the end of a banner year that saw MarRosa’s sprint from merely an idea to selling over 20,000 units while being carried by retailers in over 5 states. “We are really proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish this year,” Marcella stated. “At this show, we want to cultivate a relationship with a distributor that understands our needs of expanding our northeast footprint through major metro areas like Baltimore and Pittsburgh while continuing our expansion to new regions of the country.”

Crediting her heritage as inspiration for her business, family can be seen in nearly every facet of MarRosa’s Old World Cuisine. Marcella shares a name with her great grandmother, which has meant her ancestors have always been close to her. Since coming through Ellis Island nearly 100 years ago, generations of the Marino family have always connected through their traditional Italian cooking. Wanting to share the tastes of his home, her grandfather dreamed of starting an authentic foodstuffs company, but the pressures of being an immigrant prevented him realizing it. Through their unique combination of timeless heritage and new thinking, the MarRosa team is seeing to it that Marcella’s grandfather, and his dream to share his family’s warmth with the world, is not forgotten.

MarRosa’s hopes to expand on this by facilitating partnerships at the Fancy Food Show to further accelerate their recent, explosive growth. Currently in stores ranging from California, to Florida, to New Jersey, the company has crucial footholds that it hopes to expand upon. “Last year from June to December we hit $55k in sales and we expect to at least 3x that,” Marcella said about her recent success. They continued, “with the right partners, who knows what is possible.” Those looking to distribute MarRosa’s signature sauces or try some for themselves can stop by booth #6218 at the Startup Pavilion at the Summer 2022 Fancy Food Show.
