Specialty Food Association

Industry leaders share the connection between what you eat and how you feel

(CHICAGO) — The Hatchery Chicago — a non-profit food and beverage incubator — has announced their annual fundraiser, titled “Good Mood Foods & Gutsy Trends”. The virtual event kicks off with a TED talk-style presentation from keynote speaker, Dr. Erika Ebbel Angle of Ixcela, the Internal Fitness™ Company. Then, back-to-back fireside chats with Julie Smolyansky of Lifeway Foods and GT Dave of GT’s Living Foods will share insights on food’s transformative power to heal and the important connection between gut and mind.

The discussion will be followed by a live Dream Commercial Kitchen Pitch Contest, where five emerging brands will have the chance to win kitchen space at The Hatchery and wraparound support from food and beverage experts. The small businesses participating are: Carolyn’s Krisps, Dilly Dally Provisions, Do Well Brands, Kavnia Coffee, and LusOasis. They will pitch live to a panel of industry judges to be awarded the grand prize.

All funds support The Hatchery Chicago’s mission of helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, and enhance economic development and job creation on Chicago’s West Side.

The event takes place at 4 PM on Thursday, December 2. Tickets are available at bit.ly/TheHatcheryFundraiser21. Free tickets available for community members of the West Side of Chicago with proof of residence.
