LOS ANGELES, March 30, 2021 – The TeaBook, a member of the Specialty Food Association and company dedicated to the art and power of tea with a mantra of “Drink Tea, Do Good & Have Fun,” has announced its new MedTEAcal Tea Series in honor of National Doctor’s Day.  In celebration of the medicinal benefits of tea and in honor of those in the medical community who have risked their lives for the betterment of mankind, the MedTEAcal Tea Series will debut with a signature sage blend, a key healing ingredient, and artwork featuring Hippocrates, the famous Greek surgeon and inspiration for the Hippocratic Oath.

“Every bag of tea tells a powerful story and our first feature in the new MedTEAcal Series pays homage to the history and importance of medicine in the past and how it undoubtably will change our future,” notes Noah Bleich, founder and head tea taster at The TeaBook. “We encourage all to embrace the experience of tea and our creations have been developed to not only provoke conversation but to provide the true health benefits of tea.”

The MedTEAcal Tea series will include a number of varieties with Hippocrates serving as the first signature blend.  Every bag of tea hold hidden stories and this tea, available in August, is no different.  The TeaBook chose LA-based artist Eli Liv http://www.elizivart.com a Russian-Israeli immigrant, to bring the vision to life.  Key symbols that can be found in the artwork include:

The stethoscope with snakes noting the Caduceus medical symbol used today representing the Greek god of healing, the books nodding to the idea of sharing medical knowledge and importance of diet as a driver for health, the scale showcasing the value of putting weight on the heart vs. the knife and drugs, Cerberus the three-headed dog that guards Hades, representing do no evil and keeping death at bay, the Chalice filled with tea noting its power to impact health, the Minotaur as a reminder doctors treat people and have an impact on their entire family and the sage, an ingredient from the Mediterranean region used for thousands of years for its healing powers.

In addition to Hippocrates, the MedTEAcal Tea Series will include varieties in honor of Clara Barton, Founder of the Red Cross, Florence Nightingale, the first certified nurse, Sigmund Freud, famed psychologist, Doc Holiday, the most famous dentist and Al-Zahrawi, the famous Muslim founding father of surgery from Spain. A portion of proceeds from the series will be donated to medical non-profits and product donated to medical facilities once available later this year.
