Two River Mushroom Broth to Compete for sofi™ Gold Product of the Year at 2023 Summer Fancy Food Show 

Millstone, NJ (May 12, 2023) – Two River Mushroom Broth has been named the 2023 sofi™ Gold Product  Award Winner in the Soup/Broth category. The Specialty Food Association’s (SFA) sofi™ Awards are a top  honor in the $175 billion specialty food industry.

This year, the sofi™ Awards recognized a Gold Winner and a New Product Winner in each of 53 specialty  food and beverage product categories. Nearly 2,000 products from domestic and international makers entered the 2023 competition.

“We are honored that our Mushroom Broth has won a sofi™ Gold Product Award,” says K.C. Sullivan,  founder of Two River Mushroom. “Our team is so excited to share this with everyone! We started this  project several years ago in conjunction with restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach and came up with this 

amazing recipe. Local food scientists at Rutgers Food Innovation lab and the University of North Carolina Food Innovation Lab supported us and allowed us to fine tune our recipe and process.”

Two River Mushroom Broth is made with organic Lion's Mane and Shiitake Mushrooms and 20 other simple  ingredients to create a broth that has a beautiful, savory, umami flavor. Delicious as a sipping drink, it can  also be substituted for stock and pairs well with a variety of recipes, from simple miso soups and Ramen, to  the base for vegetarian gravy.

For thousands of years, mushrooms have been used to support immune health and promote overall  wellness. Made with simple, high-quality and recognizable ingredients without preservatives Two River  Mushroom Broth is a new culinary use of ancient ingredients.

Two River Mushroom Broth will now compete against other category winners for the 2023 sofi™ Gold  Product of the Year Award, which will be selected and announced at the Summer Fancy Food Show, June 25- 27 in New York City. The Summer Fancy Food Show is the largest business-to-business specialty food  industry event in North America.

“The sofi™ Awards recognize the best, most innovative products in the Specialty Food Industry and the  creative, passionate people who make them,” said SFA President Bill Lynch. “Winning a sofi™ Award can  open doors to new markets and expand business opportunities for the winners, which is central to the SFA’s  work on behalf of its member makers and manufacturers.”

SFA partners with Rutgers Food Innovation Center in Bridgeton, NJ for sofi™ Awards judging and logistics  management. Entries were judged strictly on a blind basis—without packaging, pricing, or any brand

identification. Products were judged on taste—including flavor, appearance, texture, and aroma—ingredient  quality, and innovation.
