Foxtrot Location Donates Inventory

Following the recent abrupt closure of Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market, Food Rescue US-DC used one Foxtrot location to deliver an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 pounds of food to food pantries and feeding organizations, reports Axios D.C.

Local real estate investment firm Kain & Associates made the decision to donate the specialty grocer’s food items.

Kate Urbank who leads the D.C. branch of Food Rescue US said that most of the items from the store were salvaged, having been kept in good condition after the location shuttered.

"We got tons of high quality, shelf-stable items," said Urbank. The group distributed it to the DC Housing Authority, which feeds low-income residents, and seven food pantries.

Foxtrot’s decision to close comes just months after it merged with Dom’s Kitchen & Market under the Outfox Hospitality entity as part of an effort for the businesses to leverage each other’s strengths. Full Story
