Insects Could Help Combat Climate Change

“CBS Saturday Morning” included a segment about how adding insects to the food system could help combat climate change, reports Fox News.

Climate researchers and scientists have shared that incremental changes incorporating insects into the food system can be useful, a practice that is already being used in some parts of the world.

One scientist interviewed said his intention was to present it as an animal feed alternative to soybeans. Soybean crops have led to deforestation, and farming insects takes fewer overall resources.

"To have a more sustainable production of proteins, we need this, and I see insects as a perfect tool," said the scientist. "And you can make so many things out of insects, and to make the world better." Full Story
