NEW YORK, NY — (May 29, 2025) AURIA’S MALAYSIAN KITCHEN will expand its portfolio of award-winning pantry staples featuring 100% Malaysian flavors with the launch of a MANGO SAMBAL at the 69th Summer Fancy Food Show, taking place June 29-July 1, 2025, at the Javits Center in New York City. Inspired by founder Auria Abraham’s grandmother—her garden, prolific mango trees and delicious cooking—this mild Mango Sambal is the perfect SWICY (sweet and spicy) combination to compliment savory and sweet dishes. The first taste will be available at Booth #6143, with an initial limited launch on https://auriasmalaysiankitchen.com and Faire.com. Registration for the Summer Fancy Food Show is open to qualified members of the specialty food trade, industry affiliates, and media.
This new sambal joins Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen’s lineup including Lime Leaf Sambal, Hot Chilli Sambal, and Vegan Hot Chilli Sambal. Originally created in a smaller 3.5-oz. format in collaboration with Burlap & Barrel for their quarterly Spice Club subscription, the Mango Sambal uses Burlap & Barrel single-origin spices such as delicate Cobanero chili flakes and Alphonso Mango Amchur and will now be available in Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen’s standard 8-oz. glass jar.
“After the wonderful positive response from our limited-time Burlap & Barrel collaboration—one customer immediately ordered 10 more and another asked if it came in gallon-sized jugs—I’m excited to officially welcome Mango Sambal into the Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen lineup,” said Founder Auria Abraham. “My goal is to introduce more palates to 100% Malaysian flavor combinations, which pair well with a wide range of dishes and cuisines.” Among Auria’s favorite ways to use this new Mango Sambal: put it on pizza, on mac & cheese, add to guacamole or mix it into plain hummus for extra flavor, add a touch to ground meat for tacos/burgers, in a ham and cheese sandwich, and, just in time for summer—eat it on ICE CREAM.
Produced by the Specialty Food Association (SFA), the Summer Fancy Food Show will bring together thousands of diverse makers, buyers, brokers, distributors, and industry professionals from across the U.S. and the globe and feature thousands of specialty foods and beverages from global makers. Participants will also gain access to real-time insights from the SFA Trendspotter Panel, educational programming and panels across two stages.
About AURIA’S MALAYSIAN KITCHEN
AURIA’S MALAYSIAN KITCHEN was founded in 2013 by Auria Abraham, who was born and raised in a tiny town called Seremban in Malaysia. Now based in Brooklyn, NY, Auria and her all-women team produce the AURIA’S MALAYSIAN KITCHEN product line by hand in small batches in The Entrepreneur Space, a fully equipped professional kitchen and food business incubator in Long Island City, NY. Growing up, Auria was surrounded by the delicious cuisine of her homeland and the diverse culinary culture of its multi-ethnic population from sumptuous curries and delectable noodle dishes to meat and seafood preparations with Malay, Chinese and Indian influences. She gained expertise in the use of Southeast Asian spices and herbs—fenugreek and brown mustard in seafood and vegetable dishes; cinnamon, cardamom and cloves in meat dishes; galangal, fennel and fresh turmeric to flavor sauces and marinades.
While at Berklee College of Music, Auria regularly cooked Malaysian meals for her college mates in the dorm—quickly learning to calibrate the heat of spicy chillis for unaccustomed palates. In 2011 she created an underground supper club series in her home in Brooklyn and based on that success formed a Malaysian food pop-up concept for street fairs and food festivals. In 2013, she launched AURIA’S MALAYSIAN KITCHEN with one product, the Hot Chilli Sambal, a very popular Southeast Asian condiment. In 2018, AURIA’S MALAYSIAN KITCHEN received double sofi™ Awards from the Specialty Food Association for the Lime Leaf Sambal (Cooking Sauce, Marinade) Pandan Kaya (Jam, Preserve). Auria (pronounced "Aw-ree-uh") is known to her customers and social media followers as The Sambal Lady (@thesamballady).
