CBA Calls for Clarification on Biden's Vaccination Plan

The Consumer Brands Association (formerly the Grocery Manufacturers Association) is asking the Biden administration to accelerate federal guidelines and clarify how businesses are expected to implement the COVID-19 action plan introduced last week. The plan includes a requirement for employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require unvaccinated workers to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis.

“Federal agencies must move quickly, anticipate challenges, promptly answer questions and partner with the private sector if we are to realize successful implementation of the administration’s COVID-19 Action Plan and achieve our shared goal of increased vaccination rates,” wrote Geoff Freeman, CBA  president and CEO, in a letter to the White House.

Also in the letter, the CBA outlined 50 unique questions for clarification that were formed from feedback received from member companies. These questions ask for more information on what types of documentation of vaccinations will be factored into compliance, what the consequences are of falsifying one’s vaccination status, what is considered a suitable documentation of a negative test result, and when these requirements will be formally issued and the timeline for compliance.
