Specialty Food Association

abillion, a social media app with a focus on sustainability, recently revealed its awards for the World's 10 Best Vegan Burgers for 2022.

The winning burgers were found through an analysis of over 27,000 reviews of 2,964 vegan burgers from app users across 75 countries, posted between July 2021 and June 2022. While determining the rankings, the company learned that vegan burger consumption was highest among users from the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, South Africa, Switzerland, the U.K., and the U.S.

The 2022 winners of the World's 10 Best Vegan Burgers are:

1. Unconventional's Burger 100% Vegetale from Italy

2. Kioene's Burger Broccoli & Kale from Italy

3. Beyond Meat's Beyond Burger from the U.S.

4. Heura Foods' Burgers Originali from Spain

5. Fior Di Natura's V-Burger from Italy

6. Vegamo's Fantastic Burger from Italy

7. Vemondo's Mini Burger con Ceci e Avena from Germany

8. Vegetalex's Hamburguesas De Soja from Argentina

9. Garden Gourmet's Sensational Burger from Switzerland

10. Impossible Food's Impossible Burger Patties from the U.S.

The first-place winner, Granarolo's Unconventional Burger brand, launched during the Covid-19 pandemic; within only a few months, it became one of the top five most successful brands in the company.

"In the coming months, we plan to make Unconventional Burger more widely available in Europe and the UK. We are also expanding the range with Unconventional sausage, fillet, and cutlet: always plant-based," says Marco Martino, CEO of Unconventional, in a statement.

Consumer interest in plant-based meat has increased this year by 150 percent, compared to 2021, according to abillion. The company also forecasts that the market will continue with a compound annual growth rate of 30 percent.

"The demand for innovative plant-based products is rapidly growing around the world. Consumers of all ages are embracing plant-based meats as products that are better for them and better for the planet," says Vikas Garg, founder and CEO of abillion, in a statement.
